The President of Italy, HE Sergio Matarella, welcomed the Nizami Ganjavi International Center (NGIC) delegation. NGIC co-chairs President Vaira Vike-Freiberga and myself were taken on a special tour of (parts of) the Quirinale Palace, its splendid salons and its baroque chapel. That is another example of the effective reuse of the historic buildings in Rome. We then met with the President and joined the others for the official session with speeches and a reception.
