In a ceremony held at the Aula Magna of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, Dr. Ismail Serageldin received the Academic Degree of “Doctor Honoris Causa of the Sofia University”. Together with the diploma, Serageldin was also presented with the St. Kliment Ohridski sign of honor with blue ribbon and chain. At the invitation of the Rector of the University, Serageldin gave a lecture on the topic of “Uses and Abuses of History”. The ceremony was held with the moving accompaniment of the student choir. It is worth mentioning that this is the Thirty Fifth Honorary Degree.
Dr. Serageldin was awarded the Honorary Sign of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria.
