Second Meeting of Human Gene Editing Study Committee

Serageldin joined the members of Human Gene Editing Study committee that is conducting a comprehensive consensus study on the scientific, medical, and ethical considerations of human gene editing. The committee held an information-gathering meeting, where invited experts discussed perspectives on human gene editing. The study committee's report is expected in late 2016.

 

The Human Gene Editing Initiative was launched by The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) and the National Academy of Medicine's (NAM) to  provide researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and societies around the world with a comprehensive understanding of human gene editing to help inform decision making about this research and its application. Serageldin was selected to be a member of Human Gene Editing Study committee.
